Although the exact age of the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) is unknown, researchers are trying to estimate the age of the HIV class based on the variability of the virus. Ge-rald Myers, a theoretical scientist at Los Alamos National Laboratory in the United States, used a computer model to estimate the time it takes for two major viruses, HIV-1 and HIV-2, to differentiate from a common ancestor. He considered the most 45 years, with an average of 45 ± 3 years. The above estimated problem is that Myers assumes that the mutation rate is constant, but as the evolutionary biologists know, the mutation rate can not be guaranteed to be permanent. The rate of change of microorganisms depends on the surrounding environment
