知识女性有着一般职业女性所共有的苦恼，诸如角色紧张问题，社会男权意识的排异性问题，以及女性自身被男权意识同化的问题等。所不同的是，知识女性视职业如生命，不象一般职业女性能挤兑上班时间以减少家务劳动的负荷，从而角色紧张问题更为明显；知识一职业女性素质较高，参与意识、女性意识较强，故对来自男权意识的排异性反应更为强烈，矛盾亦更为尖锐；另有相当一部分知识女性还在传统意识中滞留，潜在的心理依附与高智力杂揉而形成一种高雅的奴性。所以，知识女性的悲剧是真正的悲剧；她们的痛苦是一种智慧的痛苦。
