2008年11月份,全球车市受金融风暴影响继续低迷,美国、西欧、亚洲等主要市场均大幅下滑。面对60年来最为严重的一场危机,分析机构及汽车厂商均对2009年及未来更长时间表示出悲观情绪。汽车厂商及分析机构负责人表示,2009年初车市将更为低迷。美国经济调查署表示,当前的经济衰退始于2007年12月,将持续到2009年中,持续时间是大箫条以来,排在1973-1975年、1981-1982年两次大衰退之后第三位。对于欧洲市场,分析机构Fitch Ratings持同样观点,认为2009年西欧销量将下降12%-15%。而且2010年不会出现反弹。
