大地电磁法出现于五十年代初期,是法国的卡格尼阿德(Cagniard)和苏联的吉洪诺夫()提出的。它是利用天然电磁场作为场源的一种地球物理方法,国内也称为磁大地电流法(The Magnetote-lluric Method)。从某种意义上讲,可以说是大地电流法的发展。实际上是通过测量各种频率下的地表水平电场分量Ey(或Ex),与正交的水平磁场分量Hx(或Hy)之比,从而达到了解地下电性结构的目的。
Magnetometry appeared in the early 1950s when it was proposed by France’s Cagniard and the Soviet Union’s Tikhonov. It is the use of natural electromagnetic field as a source of geophysical methods, also known as the domestic Magnetotelluric current method (The Magnetotelluric Method). In a sense, it can be said that the development of the earth current method. In fact, by measuring the surface electric field component Ey (or Ex) at various frequencies and the orthogonal horizontal magnetic field component Hx (or Hy) ratio, so as to achieve the purpose of understanding the structure of the underground electricity.
