藏民族在几千年的文明发展过程中,形成了独具特色的优秀礼仪习俗。这些礼俗可以分为:社会上对上师、轨范师、老师、官员、长辈等的恭敬礼俗;家中子女对父母的孝敬礼俗;家中来客人时的敬事礼俗;相互招呼时的尊敬礼俗,写信时的恭敬礼俗等。这其中包括身体姿态的恭敬礼俗和口头语言的恭敬礼俗等。所谓恭敬礼俗,是指不管身份的高低和权势的大小,人与人之间相互交往过程中的身体姿态和口头语言的表达方式,同吃同饮、迎来送往时所表现出来的相敬如宾的高尚道德,而不是单指黎民百姓见到官员或有权有势的人时所表现的低头吐舌等。
