无论是初中还是高中,都涉及到英语课文教学。那么,英语课文究竟该怎么教,不同人有不同的教法。一般人都习惯于读一读、译一译、记一记、处理习题就完毕。多年的英语教学,我尝试了以下教法,在教学中取得了事半功倍的效果。
一、抓住关键的句式来教课文
中等职业学校英语教材基本版(2)Unit 9 Iceland一课,我们只要抓住There be 句式,即可进行全文教学。学生不但很容易地学会,而且用时也相当少。
句式:There is no darkness /daylight/pollution/television/strong wine/beer/army/tipping
There are no handguns/stores open /dogs.
There are more fish/books.
学生只要记住一个句式十几个单词,便清楚冰岛因何而闻名。
二、抓住某一语法及重点词汇进行教学
中等职业学校英语教材基本版(2)Unit 5 Soccer 一文,只要抓住被动语态,八个词即可对足球的演变历史有足够的把握。
重点单词;play/ game/make/ throw /allow/ call /shorten /use
被动语态句子;
Game was played in…
games were played in…
ball was thrown into …
hands and feet were used …
hands could be used to…
players were not allowed to…
a new rule was made …
running…was allowed…
new rules were made..
carrying…was not allowed…
football was called/shortened to…
the game was called…
soccer is played in…
the game is played…
本课教学,被动语态不是本单元的语法项目,学生早已掌握。因此,在用这些被动句进行扩展、联想时,适当地加上省去的部分,及动作表情,学生很快就掌握了不同时期足球的游戏规则,进而把握足球的演变历史。
三、抓住时间线和主要事件学课文
如Bill Gates 一文,抓住什么时候他干了什么主要的事,就能全面地了解他的成长经历。
1955——be born in…
grew up in Seattle
1968——attended a private school
began to develop software
1973——became a student of…
developed a language
1975——started a company
began developing software
1994——was married to…
1999——wrote a book…
Nowadays——reads a book/ enjoys playing golf and bridge.
由于简练,学生复述也好,背诵也好,都显得很轻松,根据课文所设计的问题,他们都能迎刃而解,因此学习的积极性被大大地调动起来。
四、简化课文,归纳相同点来学课文。
中等职业学校英语教材拓展模块Unit 5 Making an apology,可以简化为五点:
(一)advantages:it helps to mend damaged relationship
it helps to strengthen each other`s friendship
(二)Expressions of apologizing:
Excuse me/ I`m sorry/ pardon/ I apologize/ please forgive me/
Please accept my apology/ I apologize for my poor attitude/will you forgive me?
(三)Its necessary to respond to the apology:
It`s all right/ Never mind/ I forgive you/ We all make mistakes
(四)How to make an apology:
People feel ashamed of making an apology
Making an apology on the phone is not a direct or very personal way of apologizing
(五)Understanding a reason:
We dont lose face when we make an apology
Wed lose face if we never expressed regret for our mistakes 学生清楚了道歉有什么好处,该怎么说,如何回避面对面地道歉方式,在生活中做错事或给他人带来不便时自然会进行道歉,从而加深人与人之间的友谊。
五、肢解课文,根据需要重新进行编排
如中等职业学校英语教材基本版(上)Unit 7 Dark screen:
设置情境,我买票时电脑出现了dark screen ,把课文编排成我(I)和售票女孩(G)之间的对话。由于我的问话很犀利,导致女孩的答语很刁端,结果我自认倒霉。对话富有挑逗性,学生自然想知道老师如何编排的。求知欲被调动起来,当然学习效果大不相同。新编对话如下:
I:Computer isn`t working ,write out one for me
G: Computer isn`t allowed me to do so
I:What do you people do?
G:We only give the computer the information
I:If the computer doesn`t work ,you dont work ?
G:Right
I:How long will it be down ?
G:Sorry, I have no ideaI have no way to find out
I:Is there any other flight to Paris?
G:Sorry,I don`t knowOnly the computer knows itYou may ask it
I:What should I do ?I was in troubleIt`s clear that the trouble doesn`t from the computer but the person
当然,不是所有的文章都可以这样教,课文体裁、内容不同,使用的方法也不同。这就要求我们备课者细心钻研教材,理清课文用什么串联在一起的,如何对课文进行提炼、概括、整合,使之操做起来更加简单,便于学生永久性记忆,使学生在有效的时间内收效最佳。以上是我的一点点尝试,但愿与大家共享。
