建构主义教学理论认为学生是学习的主体,学习是学生主动建构意义的过程。该理论与大学英语教学有很多的契合点,但在充分重视建构主义理论对英语学习重大指导意义的同时,基于英语学习的特点及乔纳生关于知识获得三阶段的理论,在实际英语教学过程中老师还要根据具体情况,适当运用传统教学模式中的方法,如在学生掌握高级知识的过程中,老师应首先发挥知识传授者的角色。如果老师能将建构主义教学理论与传统教学理论很好地结合起来,大学英语教学将会取得更好的效果。
