Under the power discourse of the Western White Center, the history of the Chinese Americans’ survival, development and entrepreneurship in the United States is a repressed and hidden history. In “Donna Lao Ya”, Zhao Jianxiu subverts and dispels the so-called whites produced under the whites of the center of power through the rewriting of the “hidden narratives” of early Chinese involvement in the construction of the Central Pacific Railway across the North American continent The history of great accomplishments in the history of the railway shows the glorious achievements of the hidden Chinese in building the United States and the Chinese heroism, thus rebuilding the history of Chinese Americans.
