前端总线速度是建立在外频速度基础之上的,比如Pentium4 3.06GHz的外频是133MHz(3.06GHz主频=133MHz外频×23倍频)。
The Front Side Bus (FSB) has long been misunderstood by everyone as an alias for FSB. In fact, the two are not the same concept. FSB is the channel between the CPU and the North Bridge chip, responsible for the data transfer between the CPU and Northbridge chip; FSB is the frequency of synchronous operation between the CPU and the motherboard. Front-side bus speed is based on the FSB speed, such as the Pentium4 3.06GHz FSB is 133MHz (3.06GHz frequency = 133MHz FSB 23 times). The front-side bus speed of 533MHz. The 800MHz FSB frequency means FSB will reach 200MHz, the overall performance is theoretically 1.5 times the previous generation. To allow the system to run at 800MHz FSB frequency, CPU, memory, and motherboard chipset support is required. A complete 800MHz front-side bus system should use dual-channel DDR400 memory.
