山区公路中,尤其是四川林区公路在定线中应用回头曲线进行展线较为广泛.由于西南林区山高坡陡,地形复杂,设置回头曲线常因使用方法不当,未能达到理想的结果.不仅工程量大,造价高,而且通车后使用效果也不好,有的给道路造成了长期病害.有的建成后根本不能通车,给国家造成经济损失.据本里林区的调查,木里县城至扎尼沟口林区公路不能满足通行而又进行改造的回头弯道达7组之多.特别是扎尼沟口段长约5km,设计上对地质、水文没有作深入的调查,在0.6km~2的同一坡面上,设置了三组回头曲线,形成上下路线层层重叠.在施工中路基工程已完成近80%,路基发生严重的坍塌,造成近100万元的经济损失.这就是使用回头曲线展线方法不当造成的严重后果.该路以后由我院重新拟定改建方案,进行了详细的调查研究,合理利用了地形、地貌.定线中使用回头曲线方法恰当,竣工后运营比较正常.
