J.G.巴拉德是英国20世纪60年代新浪潮派科幻小说的代表作家,有“科幻小说之王”的美誉,是英国当代公认的最杰出作家之一。其最著名的小说包括具有争议的《撞车》和自传性小说《太阳帝国》。《暴行展览》由密集的幻想组成,被巴拉德称为“浓缩型小说”和他唯一一部没法拍电影的小说,其原因在于巴拉德怪异的创作手法。本文试从超现实主义表现手法和互文性两个大的方面来解析这部作品的“碎片化”技法,希求探索文本本身的魅力。
J.G. Ballard is the representative writer of British new wave science fiction in the 1960s. He has the reputation of “the king of science fiction” and is one of the most recognized writers in contemporary England. His most famous novels include the controversial “Crash” and autobiographical novel “The Sun Empire.” The Atrocity Exhibition is composed of intense fantasies and is described by Ballard as a “condensed novel” and his only novel that fails to make a movie, due to the bizarre creation of Ballard. This article attempts to analyze the “fragmentation” technique of this work from the two major aspects of surrealistic expression and intertextuality, in the hope of exploring the charm of the text itself.
