240型柴油机是东风4型内燃机车的主机,其活塞环采用单体铸造方法。活塞环在气缸内工作时,应具有保持密封、调节润滑、传导热量,以及支承等作用,其作用的完善与否,直接影响着柴油机的运用性能和经济指标。因此,对制造活塞环的材料的性能要求十分严格,如:较高的强度、较好的耐磨性能、合适的滑动性能、不易咬合和较好的磨合性能,制成的活塞环应同时具有合适的弹性和理想的强度,使活塞环既保持一定的张力,又不易断裂。几年来,我所用单体铸造方法生产的240型柴油机活塞环,经在16V240型柴油机上实际运用,证明活塞环的性能符合技术条件的规
