In the face of difficulties, more firm will to reform the 1990 post-graduate college entrance examination, the news of the rate of decline in Beijing eight schools, soon spread. It is a normal phenomenon that the high school entrance rate is a low point. If this is done in other schools, it will not cause much shock. However, Beijing No. 8 Middle School is not an ordinary secondary school. Eighth China is one of the first schools to implement the overall reform in the general education system. Since 1984, eight countries have introduced more than 20 unique reform programs. They have resolutely discarded the one-sided pursuit of higher education rates, implemented moral education-led, all-round development of quality education; they broke the “three railways” and implemented reforms such as the principal responsibility system, the appointment system for teaching staff, the total wages, and the structural wage system. These practices were widely publicized by the news media, such as plum blossoms in the Spring Festival, and they spread the refreshing atmosphere of reforms to the society. They have attracted the attention of people from all walks of life and foreign counterparts, and there have been a steady stream of people visiting the Eight China School. However, people’s views on the reform of the Eighth China are not uniform. Some people admired that the people in the eight countries were courageous and knowledgeable. The reform was in the right direction. It conformed to the laws of education and brought a good start to the general education reform. Some people doubted that the reforms in the Eighth China were too risky and they made a mistake. The loss was not small; some people denied it and thought that the reform plan of the Eighth China was a waste of money.
