The fissure in Songzhuang is a newly discovered ground fissure in Beijing. In recent years, the rapid development of fissures in Songzhuang has resulted in the destruction of houses and pavement in a number of villages along the route, resulting in heavy damage to property. Therefore, it is necessary to investigate and understand the characteristics and distribution of ground fissure distribution, analyze the causes of formation, and then propose reasonable measures to mitigate ground fissure disasters so as to ensure the life and property safety of villagers along the fissures. In this paper, groundwater stratification monitoring, level measurement technology combined with geophysical exploration and drilling technology to carry out a detailed investigation of the Songzhuang ground fissures, combined with the survey results to analyze the formation of reasons. The results show that the Songzhuang ground fissure is distributed in the northeast direction with a length of about 8.7km. The development of ground fissures in Songzhuang is controlled by the regional geological structure and the thickness of Quaternary sediments, and the long-term over-exploitation of groundwater is the main factor causing the formation of ground fissure disasters.
