托普鲁克墩佛寺遗址在新疆和田,最初是2000年2月当地一个牧童发现的,后来和田地区文管所闻讯作了调查。具体发现地点在和田地区策勒县达玛沟乡东南约7公里的荒漠中,遗址位居沙丘上,四周为沙土覆盖。当地人称为托普鲁克墩,意为“许多土堆”。沙丘上生长着旱地植物芦苇、骆驼刺、红柳等,当地村民常在此放牧。遗址北面5公里为315国道;西边约2公里为村庄;西面约500米有一条南北走向的冲沟,宽约30米,由泉水汇集而成,水量虽不大,但常年不竭,当地人称为“达玛沟”。
The site of Toplukdun Buddhist temple in Wada, Xinjiang, was first discovered by a shepherd boy in February 2000 and was later investigated by the WATO hearing in Wada. The specific spot was found in the desert about 7 km southeast of Damma ditch in Cele County, Wada. The site is located on the sand dunes, surrounded by sand and soil. Locally called Topluck Pier, meaning “many mounds”. The dunes grow dry plants reeds, camel thorn, red willow, the local villagers often grazing here. About 5 km north of the site is State Road 315; about 2 km west of the village for the village; about 500 meters west of a gully from north to south, 30 meters wide, brought together by the spring water, though not large, but perennial, local People called “Dharma ditch”.
