目前全国农田化学除草面积已达0.53亿公顷,较1980年增加了10多倍,除草剂的需求以每年200万公顷的速度增加,国内每年使用除草剂有效成份达8万吨以上。目前农药市场中先后有100多个除草剂产品投入使用,使用面积前20位的产品在2006年占到全国农田化学除草总面积的75%左右,磺酰脲类的苄嘧磺隆、甲磺隆,苯氧羧酸类的2,4-滴、2甲4氯,三嗪类的莠去津、扑草净、西草净,酰胺类的乙草胺、丁草胺是市场的主流品种。近年来,随着耕作制度的变化和农田杂草抗药性的日趋严重,新型除草剂在农田化学除草中的比例增大,约占除草剂使用量的30%～40%。
