Several new varieties of tetraploid Robinia pseudoacacia and propagation technology were introduced from abroad in 1997 and achieved remarkable results in the regional introduction test in China. Grafting and tissue culture seedling technology have been successful, transplanting tissue culture survival rate increased from 10% to 80%. At present, we have carried out regional experiments in 17 provinces and cities such as Shanxi, Gansu, Ningxia, Henan and Sichuan in our country and started to produce small-batch seedlings in Shandong Province. According to the project host Professor Tian Yan-ting of Beijing Forestry University, the four varieties of black locust introduced in this time are all tetraploids of artificial mutagenesis.
