Photovoltaic detectors have the advantages of low power consumption, easier interconnection with charge coupled devices (CCDs), and possibly large-scale focal plane and wideband applications. In addition, photovoltaic detectors have a higher degree of detection than photoconductive detectors, and photoconductive devices can achieve the same degree of detection as photovoltaic devices only with minority carrier sweeping. Therefore, the preparation of HgCdTe Hg P-N junction has received great attention.
