在手工制芯时,由于芯盒结构强度不足,撞实过程中可能会涨大。泥芯在湿态下因自重而下沉,也会增大轮廓尺寸。为防止铸型装配和造成铸件尺寸偏差,制芯盒时必需予留一定的减量,即对与构成铸件壁厚有关的部分预留出负数——泥芯负数。对不与铸件壁相接的其它部分一律不留负数。沿泥芯盒的宽度和高度方向均需留负数的泥芯,其负数的留法如图1所示。
