五堡凹陷区位于吐鲁番—哈密盆地东部,属Ⅱ级构造单元。而吐—哈盆地在博格达—哈尔里克塔格复背斜与觉罗塔格复背斜之间,属北天山地槽褶皱带山间盆地,其基底由海西期褶皱组成。 五堡凹陷区的沉积中心在哈密西南五堡一带,中、新生代陆相碎屑岩沉积厚达3000m以上。由于博格达—哈尔里克山的强烈上升和向南逆冲,使其构造复杂化。五堡凹陷区依构造背景可分为北部凹陷,了墩一喻密凸起、五堡凹陷、沙尔湖凸起四个Ⅲ级构造单元(图1)。
The Wu Bao sag zone is located in the eastern part of the Turpan-Hami basin and belongs to the grade Ⅱ tectonic unit. The Tuo-Hase basin is between the Bogda-Harricktag complex anticline and the Jueluotage anticlinal anticline, belonging to the North Tianshan Trough fold belt mountain basin, and its basement is composed of Hercynian folds. The sedimentary center of the Wubao depression is located in Wupo, southwest of Hami. The sediments of the Meso-Cenozoic terrestrial clastic rocks are more than 3000m thick. Its structure has been complicated by the strong upturn and southward thrust of the Bogda-Haarlek mountain. According to the tectonic setting, the five Fort depression areas can be divided into the northern depression, the Yudou uplift, the Wubao sag and the Sha’er Lake uplift four Ⅲ-level structural units (Figure 1).
