In this paper, the trace elements zinc and copper in the hair of 30 patients with chronic primary glomerular disease (CPGD) were measured by ICP-AES and the Cu / Zn ratio was calculated. As a result, Cu and Cu / Zn in kidney deficiency group were lower than those in normal group (P <0.01). However, Cu and Cu / Zn ratio decreased in non-kidney deficiency group, but there was no significant difference compared with normal group (P> 0.05). The ratio of Cu / Zn in kidney deficiency group was lower than that in non-kidney deficiency group (P <0.05). Further observations also showed that: the heavier kidney deficiency, Cu / Zn ratio decreased more obvious; with the condition improved, Cu / Zn ratio also gradually normal. Accordingly, the change of Cu / Zn ratio can also be used to judge the severity of kidney deficiency syndrome and to observe the curative effect
