特殊教育专业的主要职能是为特殊学校及推广融合教育的特普融合学校培养综合素质较高的具备特殊教育等多方面知识与能力的专业教师。发展特殊教育是国家中长期教育改革与发展规划中的重点,设置特殊教育专业是广东省特殊教育发展的需要,也是学科专业建设的需要。广东第二师范学院特殊教育专业的培养目标为培养复合型特殊教育专业人才,课程设置上注重特殊教育的理论基础以及学生实践能力的培养,培养模式上实行非定向型培养,并建立协同育人联盟,为特殊教育专业发展提供充足的师资、设备、场地等资源。
