以国内最长的高海拔螺旋隧道青海省国道569曼德拉至大通公路马鸡台1号螺旋隧道为依托,考虑驾驶员在隧道内的行驶规律及汽车左转和右转行驶的横向净距不同特点计算出满足隧道内螺旋展线停车视距的最小平曲线半径。并对采用较大的平曲线半径、加宽隧道内轮廓的方式采用较小的平曲线半径和降低设计速度采用较小的平面半径这三种方案进行经济技术对比,确定隧道螺旋展线方案。并对螺旋隧道勘察设计注意事项进行说明。
