Thrombin (Ⅱa) is a kind of multifunctional protease which is produced in the vascular endothelial cells of injury, which is the key enzyme involved in the reaction of all aspects of the coagulation process. While playing the role of hemostasis, it may also induce inflammation, hyperplasia and repair reactions. The recently discovered thrombin receptor (TR) molecule may provide a theoretical framework for explaining the above phenomenon. In the meantime, whether the 41 amino acid fragment cut off from the N-terminus of TR is specific or not has been investigated.
