In many non-lymphoid tissues, there is a significant amount of regulatory T cells (Tregs) in both healthy and disease states that have a special phenotype and play a unique role in the local immune response. High expression of Tregs in visceral adipose tissue, such as peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor gamma, is the key link between aberrant immunomodulatory and metabolic diseases such as type 2 diabetes; Tregs in injured regenerative skeletal muscle highly express amphiregulin , Can promote muscle repair; Treg phenotype in tumor tissue is different, but all involved in tumor immune escape. In-depth study of specific regulatory T cells distributed in various organizations will have a significant impact on the understanding of some diseases and treatment strategies. The related research progress is summarized.
