(一)组群筛选法的优点 1977年黄耀祥提出了一种新的育种选择方法——组群筛选法。此法是根据杂种后代遗传基因独立分离自由重组原理和大数法则以及个体发育原理等,设计一个以组合筛选和群体筛选为主体,辅之以其它相应技术措施如加速世代、直播遮光等的育种方法。组合筛选主要是在杂种第一代和第二代分别进行优良组合鉴定;群体筛选主要是在杂种第二代和第三代进行优良株(穗)系的选择。目前,在水稻杂交育种工作上,国内外广泛应用的选择方法仍以系谱法、混合法和集团法为主,还有单粒种籽法等等,这些方法最快都要在杂种第五代和第六代才能获得遗传性基本稳定的新类型。而应用组群筛选法则可以在
