The synergistic extraction of U(VI) and TI(IV) from nitric acid solution by HBMPPT (4-benzoyl-2,4-dihydrChs-methyl- andTBP (tributylphosphate ) in toluene was studied. The extraction ability of HBMPPTfor U(VI) and TI(IV) was not so high, but when a little TBP was added in, theability to extract U(VI) and TI(IV) was improved. The extracted complexes maybe presented as UOZNO3.BMPPT.TBP and UOZ(BMPPT)2.TBP for U(VI), andTI(NOs)s.BMPPT.TBp and TI(NOs)z (BMPPT)z.TBP for TI(IV), respectively, inthe. synergistic extraction system. The synergistic effect of HBMPPT and TBP makesthe separation coefficient of U(VI) /TI(IV) or U(VI)/Eu(lll) reach a high value.
