石油一厂八部爐,自1958年11月份开始减产以来,逐渐恶化。党总支为了扭转这种局面,加强了党的核心领导,放手发动群众大闹技术革命,具体地解决了思想上、组织上和技术上存在的一些问题。至1959年1月中旬生产情况开始逐渐好转,下旬从根本上扭转了恶化局面,使产量有了显著的提高,而且于2月12日创造了日产263吨的高产纪录。在采油率方面提高得更为显著,1月份达78.1％,2月份提高到86.66％(不包括轻質油工段的轻、重質油收率),处理量也有适当的提高。
