近十余年来由于应用较新的实验手段,对金属及合金的一些相变现象得出了更细致和更正确的结果;加以大量地引用晶体学、晶体缺陷、扩散和力学理论,以及广泛进行数学处理,将实验结果提高到定量模型,使现代相变研究获得较大的进展。研究主攻方向为各类相变的物理特征及其机制。目前对一些相变的特征已有较清晰的概念,在相变机制的研究上,较诸五十年代已面貌一新。这些研究成果虽然目前还只部分地应用于工业实际,但对于推动材料科学的发展已显示绚丽的前景。
