In her book The Different Voice, Gilligan argues that men and women are fundamentally opposed to moral approaches. Men’s approach emphasizes the application of fairness and justice and the “hierarchy”. On the contrary, women’s approach is to emphasize flexibility under the premise of concern and concern for others. This article describes Geelygan’s approach of critique by learning to think about Confucian ethics. The book mentions Mencius’s “feminization” perspective on the basis of caring and accountability, from which Mencius recognized the citizens’ need for justice. There is no inherent incompatibility between the “feminization” care and the “masculinization” of the judicial justice mentioned by Gelligan in this book, which may be the conclusion that the latter is based on the former.
