IUDs are one of the most widely used contraceptives available today and the small, copper-containing IUDs have gradually replaced the larger, inert plastic IUDs over the past 15 years. The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Chulalongkorn University Medical School validated the advantages of this type of IUD by studying the histopathological changes of uterine tissue after Cu-Fix IUD placement. The Cu-Fix IUD is linear and is fitted with 6 copper sleeves of 5 mm long and 2 mm in diameter on a thin nylon thread similar to surgical sutures, secured at both ends by two small copper clips and one end of the nylon cord When knotted, place the knot into the uterine myometrium when placed so as to fix the Cu-Fix IUD to the myometrium. The area of the copper in the entire IUD is about 330 mm ~ 2. Cu-Fix IUD is placed in the placer
