在机械测绘工作中,经常遇到圆柱齿轮,测绘圆柱齿轮既繁琐又困难。特别是对斜齿轮或角度变位的齿轮,按常用公式,经过一两次计算往往很难得到满意的结果,因此必须反复多次地进行调整计算。而每对任何一个参数进行一次调整,都得对齿轮的全部几何尺寸重新计算一次,获得一组新的数据,以便与实测数据进行对比。每一次反复的计算,即便使用含有各种函数的计算器来进行,也需要用手按键数百次,并抄写数十个六位以上的数据。即使是比较熟练的技术人员,只要连续调整几次,就会头昏脑胀,凡搞过齿轮测绘的同志,大都会有这样的感受。特别是在按键数百次和抄写数十个数据过程中,只要按错一个键或写错一个字码,就会步步皆错,这就严重地威胁着计算结果的准确性。
