Since the 1980s, the special economic zones in Asia and the Pacific have been thriving and have become effective means for countries and regions to absorb international capital and develop their foreign economies. The overall pace of development of the Asia-Pacific region is significantly faster than that of the rest of the world. It not only consolidates the previous achievements in development but also gradually deepens its development and has a strong impetus to the economies of its home countries and regions. This article is intended to make a brief discussion on the development characteristics and experience of the SEZs in the Asia Pacific region.
