In the letter Andreani put forward the views on diabetic malignant microangiopathy. With regard to the debate about the thickening of the diabetic microvascular basement membrane, the author emphasizes his opinion and hopes to draw attention. The authors believe that there is no doubt that the thickening of the capillary basement membrane lesions progress with the course of diabetes in the 15 to 20 years later, more than 80% of diabetic patients with microvascular basement membrane was significantly thicker.
