压铸铝合金用的压铸模往往会由于热裂或耐热性差以及两者的同时作用而损坏。苏联乌里杨诺夫斯克工业大学为了选择抗热裂性高的压铸模用钢,对几种耐蚀钢和常用的压铸模钢进行了抗热裂性试验。在试样试验的基础上,他们用18X12BMБΦP、14X17H2、2X10BMHΦ、3X3M3Φ,4XMΦC和3X2B8Φ钢制成八个镶块组合成阴模,并与经过氮化处理的5XHM钢制造的整体半模在同一的液体金属的压力条件下进行
