从清末民初的戈鲲化、赵元任和裘开明,到战后的张爱玲、夏志清、叶嘉莹、孙康宜、张光直、傅伟勋和杜维明等,在中西文化交往中,这些来自中国的文人学者不仅在美国学界占据着独特的位置,且经由不同的人生际遇而萌生文化感怀,最终发出了学术上的强音。他们以其富有见地的学术思想,在中国和西方之间建立了文化沟通的桥梁。本文借助张凤《哈佛问学录》、夏志清编注《张爱玲给我的信件》及其他的相关材料,讨论了美国华裔汉学家的个人遭际和思想脉络,针对华人作家在美国的生存、跨语境的文学创作、传统文化的出路等问题,做了深一层的分析。
From the works of Ge Kunhua, Zhao Yuanren and Qiu Kai-ming from the late Qing Dynasty and the early Republic to the post-war Eileen Chang, Xia Zhiqing, Ye Jiaying, Sun Kangyi, Zhang Guangzhi, Fu Weixun and Du Weiming, these scholars from China not only studied in American academia Occupy a unique position, and through different life experiences and initiation of cultural feelings, eventually issued a strong academic tone. With their insightful academic ideas, they established a bridge of cultural communication between China and the West. This paper discusses the personal interpersonal and ideological threads of American Chinese sinologists with the help of Zhang Feng’s Harvard Quotations, Xia Zhiqing’s “Letters from Eileen Chang” and other related materials. In view of the survival of Chinese writers in the United States, Context literature creation, the way out of traditional culture and other issues, made a deep analysis.
