Objective To study the effects of adding different levels of boron in drinking water on the blood components in rats. Methods 192 SD rats (28 ± 2 days) were randomly divided into 6 groups (32 rats in each group), male and female rats were drank respectively with 0, 40, 80, 160, 320 and 640 mg / The test period of 60 days. On the 30th day and the 60th day of the experiment, 16 rats were randomly selected in each group, 8 in each male and 8 female, in which 10% chloral hydrate was injected intraperitoneally and blood was taken from the right atrium to determine the number of red and white cells, reticulocytes and hemoglobin. Blood smears, Wright - Jim Sa stain, white blood cell count. Results The numbers of reticulocytes in different experimental groups increased to different extents. The numbers of erythrocyte and hemoglobin in 40, 80 mg / L group were significantly increased (P <0.05) / L group of red and white blood cell count and hemoglobin content were significantly or very significantly reduced (P <0.05 or P <0.01), the test on the 60th day of neutrophil, eosinophil, basophil and The proportion of monocytes decreased significantly (P <0.05 or P <0.01). Conclusion Adding boron 40 mg / L in drinking water can significantly promote the formation of hemocytes and the synthesis of hemoglobin in rats. Adding boron 80 mg / L can promote erythropoiesis and hemoglobin synthesis in rats. Adding boron 160 ~ 640 mg / L Rat blood cells and hemoglobin synthesis have obvious adverse effects, and even have obvious toxic effects.
