The occurrence and development of laryngeal carcinoma are regulated by many genes, and Signal Transducer and Activator of Transcription 3 (STAT3) and Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor (VEGF) play an important role in the occurrence, development, metastasis and prognosis of laryngeal cancer. Activation of STAT3 by extracellular cytokines, growth factors and other peptide ligands, acting on specific DNA fragments in the nucleus, regulating transcription of target genes, promoting cell proliferation and inhibiting apoptosis. The growth of tumor depends on the formation of tumor neovascularization. VEGF is an important positive regulator of angiogenesis. Therefore, some studies on the relationship between STAT3 and VEGF have laid the foundation for the development of laryngeal carcinoma.
