This paper uses the sample of listed companies during the period of 2001-2012 to examine the changes of the forecasting ability of the accounting accruals to the future operating cash flows under the old and new standards and to overcome the shortcoming of too few annuals in the new guidelines contained in the previous studies. The measurement of quality is more in line with the definition in the conceptual framework of international mainstream accounting standards. Our findings show that the implementation of the new standard reduces the ability of accounting accruals to predict the future cash flow of operations. In particular, the accrued profit component with fair value gains and losses is also one of the variables with a significant drop in predictive power. This shows that in our country, which has a weak judicial protection for investors, the adoption of more discretionary guidelines for financial statement preparers will reduce the quality of accounting information.
