Objective To investigate the correlation between three commonly used balance scales in stroke patients with hemiplegia. Methods Fifty-seven patients were evaluated by Berg balance scale (BBS), Fugl-Meyer balance scale (FM-B), Post-stroke patients scale forstroke patients (PASS), motor function of lower extremity, ADL Ability and walking functional assessment. Pearson correlation analysis was used to determine the association between BBS, FM-B and PASS; and to determine the association between BBS, FM-B and PASS and lower extremity motor function, ADL ability, and walking function. Results There was a significant correlation between BBS, FM-B and PASS (r = 0.613-0.766, P <0.001). There was a significant correlation between BBS, FM-B and PASS and lower extremity motor function, ADL ability and walking function 0.479-0.718, P <0.001). Conclusion Both BBS, FM-B and PASS can reflect the balance and functional outcome of stroke patients.
