Objective To explore the possible influencing factors of cardio-cerebrovascular diseases in left villagers in rural areas of western Anhui Province and to provide scientific evidences for the prevention and control strategies of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases in this area. Methods Random cluster sampling three towns in Lu’an City, Anhui Province, a total of 18 administrative villages of 40 to 70-year-old residents. Field survey is divided into two parts: questionnaire and physical examination. The questionnaire includes general demographic characteristics, disease history and living habits. Physical examination includes blood pressure, blood glucose, height and weight. Data entry software Epi Data 3.1, Analysis of the use of software EXCEL 2007 and SPSS 16.0, univariate analysis using X2 test, multivariate analysis using multivariate Logistic regression. Results A total of 4 040 residents were surveyed. Univariate analysis showed that prevalence of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases in the population was significantly higher than that of the controls The results of multivariate analysis showed that age, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, partial salty diet, irregular diet and eating cured food were the independent risk factors of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases in this population, with cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases The risk increases with the number of risk factors. Conclusions The incidence of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases is generally the result of a combination of many factors. Future research needs to pay attention to the exploration of other possible risk factors.
