周孔的道德“金律”——“己所不欲,勿施于人”发生倾危后,春秋战国时期的诸子都试图用自己的理论去重建这一体系;而拘于伦理学、形上学和政治学的儒、道、法各家,亦从此各抱地势,高自标置。但由于这些均不乏偏执倾向的新构想足以导致道和术的断裂,因此,东周晚期以至于秦汉,以“杂家”面貌出现的综合性“金律”体系,在一统政治的推动下开始了“返本开新”的均衡转化行程。
