由武钢热轧带钢厂承担研制的“用数学模型取代热轧γ射线测厚仪的研究及γ射线检测器的代用”是冶金部重点科研项目之一,于85年6月在武汉由部科技司主持通过技术鉴定。 武钢热连轧粗轧区的γ射线测厚仪,由于射线强度大(20居里),再加上设备磨损等原因,泄漏量达1.0毫雷姆,超过国家规定标准5倍。它不但严重损害了职工的身体健康,而且由于职工产生思想顾虑和恐惧心理而影响了生产的正常进行。

The γ-ray thickness gauge in the rough rolling zone of the hot strip mill in WISCO has a leakage of 1.0 milliliter, exceeding the national standard by 5 times due to the large radiation intensity (20 Curie) and equipment wear. It not only seriously damaged the health of workers, but also affected the normal production due to the ideological concerns and fears of workers.
