中国地质科学院《中国泥盆系标准剖面研究》项目之一的《西秦岭碌曲迭部间泥盆纪地层及古生物》研究课题,由地质矿产部西安地质矿产研究所和中国科学院南京地质古生物研究所等五个单位的二十多位科技人员完成,最近经中国地质科学院组织同行专家评审,一致认为达到了国内同学科的先进水平。西秦岭碌曲、迭部一带,山峦叠嶂,地势险峻,是当年红军长征路经之地,交通闭塞,地质研究程度较低。1981年,他们在过去零散研究的基础上,克服各种困难,系统地测制剖面,采集各种标本,又于室内进了大量的实验鉴定工作,获得了丰富的地层化石和岩石资料。运用多重地层划分的理论方法,进行多学科、多门类综合性的专题研究,划分出泥盆系三个统、九个组;结合发现的一些化石的新属、种,研究了古生物的分布演化规律,建立了各类化石的组合带;首次把该区岩石地层、生物地层的研究与沉积相的研究结合起来,将泥盆系剖面的251个自然层归纳为46个主要岩石类型、45个相段,建立了相序。这一研究成果共八十多万字,附图版185幅,自成体系,具有重要的理论和实际价值。不仅填补了中国西部泥盆系的空白,为全国泥盆系对比,阐明古地理环境、古生物分区提供了宝贵资料;而且对当前正在进行的秦巴地区第二轮区域地质调查和找矿工作将起到促进作用。
