The Hungarian army has a size of about 26,000 or so. Only about 100 military officers are retired each year, with a small number and little pressure of employment. The Hungarian Parliament passed the “Hungarian Defense Forces Occupational and Contractual Service for the Rights of Men and Persons” Act passed in 2001, which clearly stipulates the decommissioning and resettlement and is the basic law governing the work of decommissioning and resettlement. The law stipulates that the placement of war veterans shall be the responsibility of the Personnel Bureau of the Ministry of National Defense. The Eastern Army Supplementary Command and the Western Army Supplementary Command are specifically responsible for the placement of veterans under their jurisdiction. The Eastern Army Supplementary Command manages the placement of war veterans in 10 states, and the Western Army Supplementary Command is responsible for the placement of war veterans in 9 states. After the retired Hungarian troops, their administrative relations, supply relations, and so on are transferred to their permanent residence to choose their own replacement headquarters.
