考察京杭大运河博物馆展厅英译的拼音化现象,发现由于时空限制、目标读者不明确和专有名词集中等原因,音译是化不可能为可能的无奈之举。翻译需遵循关键词汇用音译、富含文化底蕴的地名音译与意译相结合和时间名词避免音译等原则,尽可能保持信息传递与读者接受度的平衡。大运河申遗成功是重要的里程碑却不是终点,如何用“世界语言”讲述“杭州故事”是一项长期的研究课题。
The phenomenon of phoneticization of the British-English translation of the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal museum exhibition hall was investigated. It was found that due to the limitation of time and space, the uncertainty of the target audience and the concentration of proper nouns, the transliteration was helpless. The translation should follow the principles of key words transliteration, cultural translucent geographical names transliteration and free translation, and time nouns avoid transliteration, so as to keep the balance of information transmission and reader acceptance as possible. The Grand Canal inscription success is an important milestone is not the end, how to use “World Language ” “Hangzhou Story ” is a long-term research topic.
