德福关系问题一直是儒家伦理学的重要问题之一,纵观中国思想史,德福问题的讨论即为德福如何一致的问题,儒家士人对此或多或少有所涉及,王夫之对此也有自己的看法。其继承荀子“天人相分”的自然理性天命观,在实有的气本论立场下,于“以人造命”的天命观基础上,把命二分为德命与福命,通过与知能、阴阳、虚实等概念的类比与互相诠释,明晰了德福相资相因的关系,并通过“德肖于知,福有其能”的命题,对德与福的内涵给予了新的规定,丰富了“德福一致”命题的内涵。他从“无定命之命”和理气关系的双重角度,为德福不一致这一亘古难题提供了一种新的解决方案,对儒家人文理性传统的发展做出了理论贡献。
