种子寿命是种子生物学特性与贮藏环境间矛盾统一的具体反映。前者是遗传的内在因素,而后者是外界的可变因素。具有不同形态结构、不同生理生化特性的种子对贮藏环境中的温度、湿度、气境和微生物等的适应性各各不同。内外因子间十分复杂的相互作用决定了十分悬殊的寿命长短。Harrington(1972)在其有关种子贮藏与寿命的文章中概括为长寿命和短寿命两类.并认为绝大部分种子都可在低温干燥条件下长
Seed life is a specific reflection of the contradiction between seed biological characteristics and storage environment. The former is a genetic internal factors, while the latter is a variable outside factors. Seeds with different morphological structures and different physiological and biochemical characteristics are different in their adaptability to temperature, humidity, air environment and microorganisms in the storage environment. Very complicated internal and external factors determine the interaction between very poor life expectancy. Harrington (1972), in his article on seed storage and longevity, summarizes both long-lived and short-lived species and believes that the vast majority of seeds can be grown under low temperature drying conditions
