Makus Heldt, president of BASF’s plant protection department, said recently that BASF’s two new production plants in Brazil are likely to be completed by the end of this year. One of the plants will be completed between July and August and the other will be completed in December. Both factories will start operation next year. The new plant was built in Kuala Rutaguta Industrial Park in São Paulo with a total investment of more than 50 million euros with the goal of increasing the production capacity of agrochemical products. BASF will launch two new products targeting Brazil’s soybean market to combat weeds and fungal diseases. In addition, the production of bactericides boscalid will also be expanded to be used in coffee crops, cereals and fruits. In June of this year, BASF announced that it will invest 1.8 billion euros to expand the basic production facilities in the agricultural sector. A large part of this will be used for the construction of the Kuala Rutaguta Industrial Park in Brazil.
