In my college career, whenever it comes to mainland China, it is always defined as “Sleeping Giant.” However, from a global perspective, the changes that took place in China over the past few decades make this claim no longer accurate. However, at least from my personal point of view, many old-time Chinese perceptions have not changed. I can see the rapid take-off of China’s economy and the threat that its economy and politics have brought to the United States. However, I never imagined that the tremendous changes in China would affect my hobbies and dog competitions. I have continuously declined the referee invitation sent from China, but this time, some good friends whom I trust have repeatedly suggested that I should go there to see. I used to be a teacher teaching the general situation in China, so I know where to see many fascinating landscapes, but canine shows are completely different industries. And this time, my wife, Marcia, said she was willing to go with me if I went to China. So I accepted Mr. Shi’s invitation from the port city of Tianjin. This is probably the smartest decision I have ever made, both in my personal perspective and in the rapid development of a new era in the world of kennels.
